Located in the hamlet of Grenofen
on the A386, near the market town of Tavistock, the Halfway House Inn was
originally housed in a 17th century cottage, which is now the public bar. Over
the years it has expanded to include another six cottages of the original nine,
and the growth over this long period has given the Inn the very attractive and
traditional character which it has at present.
The Inn takes its name from its location, which is halfway between the Barbican
in Plymouth, and the Market Place at Launceston in Cornwall, and it is a popular
venue for both travellers and locals alike.
As
befits a traditional travellers Inn, we have a reputation for providing superb
food. All the food is prepared and cooked to order, using only the finest raw
ingredients. Similarly, the wines are selected for their quality and value. The
range of choice will suit everyone’s palate.
Please book in advance
to avoid disappointment.
